Why You Should Drink Tart Cherry Juice After You Workout And Before You Go To Sleep

I’ll admit I was skeptical at first. Tart Cherry Juice, really? 

If it has so many health benefits why haven’t I heard about them before? And juice? Isn’t juice filled with sugar which leads to inflammation? Aren’t we all trying to avoid inflammation?

But then I dug deeper and there have been studies, real scientific-control-group studies. So I started to read, and I was shocked that more people weren’t talking about this -- that more people weren't drinking this anti inflammatory drink!

How I Drink Tart Cherry Juice

I personally drink a nightly mug of Tart Cherry Tea every evening. I make it by adding Tart Cherry Tonic to a mug of hot water. I do my best to drink it while reading or doing some other wind-down activity, but to be perfectly honest sometimes I drink it while watching TV.

For workouts, particularly yoga, I like to add a bit of Tart Cherry Tonic to warm or room-temperature water in my insulated water bottle. I rarely drink cold beverages unless I’ve had an extremely high intensity workout or it’s very hot outside. It takes so much more energy for the body to process cold foods than warm ones, so whenever possible I avoid ice and lean towards warm drinks.

When the weather is hot (and I’m feeling super motivated), or if I’m planning an intense workout, hike or day at the beach, I make a batch of this magical Tart Cherry Workout Water. It’s refreshing and delicious, but more importantly provides the electrolytes, potassium, vitamin C and anti-inflammatory antioxidants that are critical to physical recovery.

I definitely recommend giving it a try. Just one small caveat, once you’ve tried this you’ll never want drink a pre-packaged sports drink again!
